NovaAir Industrial Gases Sdn. Bhd. (NovaAir) broke ground on June 23, 2024, for inauguration of its air separation plant in Southeast Asia. Scheduled to be operational in the first quarter of 2025, the new facility will drive innovation and enhance the manufacturing sectors in Malaysia and neighboring countries. NovaAir is a wholly owned subsidiary of AirPower Technologies Limited (AirPower Technologies). The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Fang Shiwen, CEO of AirPower Technologies, along with other corporate executives and key project members.
Strategically located in the UMW High-Value Manufacturing Park in central Malaysia, the plant benefits from proximity to industrial hubs and Port Klang, one of Malaysia’s busiest seaports, offering significant logistical advantages. The project will bolster NovaAir production capacity, primarily supporting the chemicals, electronics, semiconductor and food processing sectors, among other manufacturing industries. NovaAir aims to meet the high demand for industrial gases across central Malaysia and the entire peninsula.
The plant will produce liquid nitrogen, oxygen, and argon, with capability to produce high-purity oxygen for solar cell manufacturers. A core team from NovaAir and Yingde Gases, both subsidiaries of AirPower Technologies, will oversee the construction, operations, and management of the plant, leveraging over 20 years of experience in gas production and distribution. Upon completion, the facility will provide consistent and high-quality gas products and services, including high-purity oxygen, positioning Southeast Asia as a high-tech hub for manufacturing.
